My mother is very sensitive to gluten and it was such a relief to be in a restaurant that has 0 gluten. The food was also insanely good. We got the four course tasting menu and highly recommend it.

The place is quite packed. I hope they would have fewer tables to make customers more comfortable. The place is way too dark that I could not even see what I was eating.
Simply my type of restaurant. Food was bland, not interesting at all, simply just not tasty. For an oaxacan restaurant it’s considered only an alright restaurant. Service was extremely slow. We waited 40 minutes for our main and another 20 min for dessert. I really question why it could possibly be so slow. Only thing I can say it is very affordable for lunch and that’s great. I really question their star.
This restaurant was on my list and it didn’t disappoint. We decided to do a pre-fix menu and try most of the dishes, which I highly recommend. A lot of the dishes were creative and I got to explore a different take on mexican dishes. I enjoyed all the dishes but my top fav dish was the short ribs with bone marrow. This restaurant is also famous for their mezcal drinks as well.
Claro is some of the best, most delicious food you’ll ever eat! It happens to be authentic Mexican. From the starters, to the mains to the desserts 🍮, it’s all remarkable. One of the best mezcal tasting menus in NY. Friendly service rounds out the experience. PS: it’s now alacarte! So, if you just want a taste, have a taste!
Ordered the Tostada de Atun and Mole Rojo, both were excellent. Based on what I ate, you can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. The mole tasted authentic and was spot on. Nice ambiance and a full bar of Mezcal if that is your thing.
Celebrated my 28th birthday here and it didn’t disappoint. As a Mezcal fan, I needed to experience the food and Mezcal tasting. It was such a delicious and unique experience to try the food and the different Mezcals. I didn’t know how different they can all taste. Had the best lamb tacos of my life here, the red rojo pork cheeks were to die for and the desserts were amazing - rice pudding for the win. Loved the heat and spice of all the food. Such a quality establishment and would love to dine here again.
Claro is incredible. My second time here (last time was dinner and this time for brunch) and was again blown away again by how incredible everything is. It’s one of those places that you can order anything on the menu and it will wow you even if it’s not a type of food you typically even appreciate. The service was also top notch - so attentive, really kind, multiple course meal spaced out really nicely. And please do yourself a favor and try the chocolate mole cake. It is outstanding. What a gem of a place!
